Day 1 Rungus Longhouse (L/D)
0800hrs Pick up from hotel in Kota Kinabalu city and drive about 3 hrs through scenic countryside to the North of Kudat, passing paddy fields, villages, oil palm plantation and local stalls selling handicrafts and local food. En-route visit Sumangkap Village, which is famous for its gong making cottage industry and skilled artisans. Proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for a Longhouse visit. Built entirely using local materials, the longhouse is home to the Rungus people, a sub-tribe of the indigenous Kadazan-Dusun. Observe their unique beadworks, lifestyle and costumes. Lunch would be either at the longhouse or Sunjamal Resort. Continue journey for about 1 hour to Simpang Mengayau, the Northern Tip of Borneo. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the coastline. Continue for approximately 45-minutes to Kudat town for a brief tour of the first capital of British North Borneo Chartered Company. Then return to the longhouse. In the evening, after a traditional native dinner, enjoy a cultural show by Rungus dressed in their traditional costumes. Overnight in twin bedded local-style room at the longhouse.
Day 2 Longhouse – Kota Kinabalu (B/L)
After your traditional native breakfast, morning is at leisure. Following a traditional lunch, return to Kota Kinabalu.
