Then travel upriver by longboat. Our destination is the scenic Enseluai waterfall. Along the way (if conditions are suitable) your boatman may stop to demonstrate fishing Iban-style using a jala or throw net. Arrive at the waterfall and have time to relax, swim and enjoy the rainforest surroundings. Then backtrack along the Delok River by boat before entering the Lalang River. Proceed by boat to Lubok Kasai Jungle Camp. Settle in at Lubok Kasai. Relax, have a swim in the river or just enjoy the rainforest surroundings.  Orangutans are occasionally seen (at dusk or at dawn) in this area.  After dinner spend a quiet evening at the lodge and enjoy the tranquility of the forest. Alternatively go on a short night walk near the lodge (weather permitting). Overnight at Lubok Kasai jungle camp.

Day 4 Lubok Kasai (B/L/D)
After breakfast, start trekking on one of the forest trails and search for orangutan and other wildlife. Return to Lubuk Kasai around midday and have lunch. In the afternoon  relax, have a swim in the river or if you wish help the guides gather jungle produce like bamboo shoots or edible ferns for your dinner. Around 1600 hours head out on the forest trails again. Look out for nests or movement in the jungle canopy. As darkness falls return to Lubok Kasai. Dinner and overnight at Lubok Kasai Camp.

Day 5 Lubok Kasai (B/L/D)
After breakfast, start trekking again in search of orangutan. The exact day’s activities can be discussed with your guide. Around 1600 hours depart Lubok Kasai and walk along nearby forest trails in search of orangutans. Return to the lodge before dark. Dinner and overnight at Lubok Kasai Camp.

This tour focuses on searching for orangutans and their nests in the forests of Ulu Ai and Ulu Sungai Menyang.  You will help record the locations of fresh nests and orangutans on GPS units. Sightings are plotted in Borneo Adventure’s sightings map and data is also passed on to orangutan researchers at WCS Malaysia.  Sightings of orangutans are not guaranteed on this trip. A reasonable level of fitness is required but the tour does offer some flexibility. For example, you can opt for shorter treks near Nanga Sumpa and Lubok Kasai or longer treks further afield.  Weather conditions and the water level of local rivers may force our guides to modify the tour in the interests of safety. For example, some trekking activities are not possible during heavy rain or a thunderstorm. No refunds will be offered if a trek is cancelled or boat transfer delayed due to bad weather or river conditions.
