Day 1              Arrive Sandakan – MY Nature Resort, Sepilok (D)
Pick up from Sandakan International Airport and transfer to MY Nature Resort, Sepilok. Rest of day at own leisure.  Early evening gather near the restaurant to see if the giant red flying squirrels emerge from their nearby nests. Dinner and overnight at MY Nature Resort. 
 
Day 2               Rainforest Discovery Centre – Sepilok Orangutan – Sun Bear Centre - Labuk Bay (B/L/D)
Early rise and proceed to the nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre, an education centre located within the Kabili Sepilok Forest Reserve.  Head to the canopy walkway to search for birds and other wildlife. Return to MY Nature Resort for breakfast. Experience the rainforest from the centre’s 147 metres long canopy walkway, which is up to 28 metres above the forest floor in places. The walkway and two towers offer a unique way of seeing Sabah’s rainforest and are an excellent place for bird watching. Over 250 species of birds are found here.
 
0900 hours visit the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary where captive orangutans are reintroduced into the wild. You will be able to observe them at their feeding stations in the rainforest and at the nursery (if open). Watch the feeding session at 1000 hours. At 1100 hours proceed to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC). This centre rescues captured sun bears and is involved in sun bear conservation, welfare rehabilitation and education. Over 30 sun bears live at the centre in the bear house and outdoor enclosures.  11.45 hours depart the BSBCC and have lunch in MY Nature Resort.
 
After lunch proceed to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary about 38 kilometres or 1 hour drive from Sandakan. This privately run sanctuary is located within an oil palm estate and offers a unique chance to see proboscis monkeys. These monkeys are wild but habituated and often get very close to visitors. Arrive in time to see the later part of the 1430 hours feeding session when groups of proboscis monkeys from the nearby mangroves and head to the wooden platform for a free meal.  Depart the sanctuary around 1600-1630 hours and return to your accommodation in Sepilok. Dinner and overnight at MY Nature Resort.

Day 3               Sepilok  - Kinabatangan River Sukau (B/L/D)
Breakfast in the lodge. Free at leisure in morning.   After lunch, be picked up at the resort and transfer by road to Sandakan town. Then embark on a 2-and-a-half-hour journey by speedboat up the Kinabatangan River to the Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Check in and then depart for an evening cruise in search of Borneo's wildlife and birds. Dinner and overnight at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.
 
Day 4              Kinabatangan River (B/L/D)
Early morning river cruise on the Kinabatangan River to search for wildlife. After breakfast, join in the nature walk along the lodge's Hornbill Boardwalk with the in-house naturalist. After lunch, free at leisure. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. Overnight at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 5              Kinabatangan River (B/L/D)
Take an early Morning River cruise along the Menanggol River in search of wildlife. In the afternoon, proceed for another river cruise and get to see more wildlife. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 6              Sukau – Lahad Datu – Tabin Wildlife Reserve (B/L/D)
After early breakfast, leave the lodge and drive two hours overland to Lahad Datu. Upon arrival, continue at 0800 hours for the scheduled transfer to Tabin Wildlife Reserve on a gravel road for about an hour and a half.  Check into the charming timber bungalow of Tabin Wildlife Resort which comes complete with private balcony and hot water shower, a real luxury in the forest.  A variety of birds, insects and even small mammals can be sighted quite easily within the resort which is set amongst the rainforest alongside the Lipad River. Discover the rich variety of jungle herbs, some endemic, used for generations by local folks for the treatment of various ailments. In the afternoon, visit the Lipad mud volcano which serves as a mineral salt lick for wildlife.  After trekking through the jungle for twenty minutes, arrive at the elevated bare area of the mud volcano. Try to identify the multitude of animal footprints here. Walk up the observation tower and admire the contrasting landscape of the bare area and its surrounding thick forest where birds are commonly sighted. After dinner, enjoy a slide presentation on Tabin’s uniqueness, followed by a Night Safari to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds.

Day 7              Tabin Wildlife Reserve (B/L/D)
Early morning bird walk to discover some of Tabin’s rich collection of almost 300 bird species. After breakfast, trek through the lush green rainforest known for its rich diversity of plants and animal species to visit Lipad Waterfall.  Take a dip in the natural pool and enjoy a natural and refreshing shower under the waterfall. Alternatively explore the surrounding vegetation or simply relax. In the afternoon you may wish to try out the Tabin Rainforest Foot Soak made with a natural blend of herbs, to relax tired muscles after long jungle treks. After dinner go on a Night Safari (weather permitting) to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds. Overnight at Tabin Wildlife Resort.

Day 8                          Tabin Wildlife Reserve – Danum Valley (B/L/D)
After early breakfast, check-out and travel by road to Lahad Datu and then take 09.30 hours scheduled transfer to Danum Valley (4-5 hours). Arrive and check-in to the Borneo Rainforest Lodge. In the afternoon, depart for a guided walk on a nature trail (400 m boardwalk circuit) and the 300 m canopy walkway. In the evening, have dinner at the lodge. If weather permits, go for a night drive in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 9              Danum Valley (B/L/D)
Early morning go the Canopy Walk. Following breakfast, depart for a trek along the “Coffin Trail” that leads to an ancient Kadazan-Dusun burial site. It’s a 3 km return trip, involving a 40-minute climb to a magnificent lookout point. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, hike the Segama Trail and East Trail in search of wildlife before returning to the Lodge. After dinner, depart for a night walk in search of nocturnal creatures. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 10            Danum Valley (B/L/D)
 
In the morning hike to a beautiful waterfall, searching for wildlife along the way. Return to the Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, take another walk on one of your favourite trails in search of more wildlife. Return to the Lodge. After dinner, you will have an option of night walk or night drive (but subject to space availability on the vehicles).  Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge.

Day 11            Danum Valley – Lahad Datu (B/L)
A leisurely breakfast followed by at own leisure. Have lunch followed by check out. Then depart at 1330 hours for the scheduled transfer to Lahad Datu airport.
 
Pick up at Kota Kinabalu Airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Marriott Kota Kinbalu.
